The eighth round of talks on lifting sanctions in Vienna began on January 26 and has now reached a point where the success or failure of the talks depends solely on the political decisions of the West.
If the Western parties make the necessary decisions, the remaining issues can be resolved and a final agreement reached within a few days.

Meanwhile, Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister for Economic Diplomacy Mehdi Safari met with his Austrian counterpart Peter Lavensky Tiefenthal in Vienna.
During the meeting, Safari underscored Iran's frank determination to get to a successful conclusion in Vienna talks and believed striking necessary agreements to expand economic and trade relations between Iran and Austria depended on this issue.
